BaoSub ออกแบบโดยให้ความสำคัญกับความเป็นส่วนตัวของผู้ใช้ นโยบายนี้อธิบายว่าส่วนขยายเก็บข้อมูลอะไรไว้บ้าง เก็บไว้ที่ไหน และข้อมูลอะไรที่เราไม่เก็บเลย สรุปสั้น ๆ คือ ข้อมูลการเรียนของคุณอยู่ในเบราว์เซอร์ของคุณเองทั้งหมด และเราไม่สามารถเข้าถึงข้อมูลเหล่านี้ได้ บัญชีผู้ใช้เป็นทางเลือก และหากคุณเลือกใช้บัญชี จะเข้าสู่ระบบด้วย LINE เท่านั้น BaoSub มีเซิร์ฟเวอร์ของตัวเองเพียงตัวเดียว คือบริการบัญชีและสถานะ Pro บน baosub.com และจะติดต่อเซิร์ฟเวอร์นี้ก็ต่อเมื่อคุณลงชื่อเข้าใช้ด้วย LINE เท่านั้น (ดูข้อ 4)

1. ข้อมูลที่เราไม่เก็บหรือส่งออก

BaoSub ไม่เก็บรวบรวม ส่งออก หรือจัดเก็บข้อมูลต่อไปนี้:

  • อีเมลหรือรหัสผ่าน — BaoSub ไม่มีระบบสมัครสมาชิกด้วยอีเมลและไม่มีรหัสผ่าน การใช้บัญชีเป็นทางเลือกและเข้าสู่ระบบด้วย LINE เท่านั้น (ดูข้อ 4)
  • ประวัติการเข้าชมเว็บไซต์ หรือ URL ของหน้าเว็บที่คุณเปิด
  • เนื้อหาซับไตเติล คำที่คุณเปิดดูความหมาย หรือคำในสมุดคำศัพท์ (ข้อมูลเหล่านี้อยู่ในเครื่องของคุณเท่านั้น ดูข้อ 2 และ 3)
  • ข้อมูลวิเคราะห์การใช้งาน เทเลเมทรี (telemetry) รายงานข้อผิดพลาด หรือระบบติดตามพฤติกรรมการใช้งาน
  • คุกกี้ที่สร้างขึ้นโดยตัวส่วนขยายเอง

BaoSub มีเซิร์ฟเวอร์ของตัวเองเพียงตัวเดียว คือบริการบัญชีและสถานะ Pro ตามข้อ 4 เซิร์ฟเวอร์นี้จะได้รับข้อมูลก็ต่อเมื่อคุณเลือกเข้าสู่ระบบด้วย LINE เท่านั้น หากไม่เข้าสู่ระบบ ส่วนขยายจะไม่ติดต่อเซิร์ฟเวอร์ของเราเลยแม้แต่ครั้งเดียว

2. ข้อมูลที่เก็บไว้ในเบราว์เซอร์ของคุณ

ส่วนขยายใช้พื้นที่จัดเก็บข้อมูลของ Chrome สองประเภท ซึ่งทำงานต่างกัน

ค่าการตั้งค่าการแสดงผล — เก็บใน chrome.storage.sync

  • สถานะเปิด/ปิดหลัก และบรรทัดที่เลือกให้แสดง (จีน พินอิน ไทย)
  • ขนาดตัวอักษร ตำแหน่งแนวตั้ง พื้นหลังของแถบซับและความทึบของพื้นหลัง
  • ธีมสีของซับไตเติล และสีที่คุณตั้งเองในโหมดกำหนดสีเอง
  • ตัวเลือกอักษรจีนตัวย่อ/ตัวเต็ม และค่าชดเชยเวลาซับที่คุณเลื่อนเอง
  • ระดับ HSK ที่ใช้ซ่อนพินอิน การเปิด/ปิดการแตะคำเพื่อดูความหมาย และการเปิด/ปิดปุ่มลัดคีย์บอร์ด
  • การหยุดวิดีโออัตโนมัติเมื่อจบประโยคพร้อมระยะหน่วง และภาษาของหน้าตั้งค่า

หากคุณลงชื่อเข้าใช้ Chrome และเปิดการซิงค์ Chrome อาจซิงค์ค่าการตั้งค่าเหล่านี้ระหว่างอุปกรณ์ผ่านบัญชี Google ของคุณ การซิงค์นี้เป็นกลไกของเบราว์เซอร์ Chrome เอง และคุณควบคุมได้จากการตั้งค่าการซิงค์ของ Chrome ส่วนขยาย BaoSub ไม่ได้ส่งค่าการตั้งค่าออกไปเอง

ข้อมูลการเรียนของคุณ — เก็บใน chrome.storage.local

  • สมุดคำศัพท์ที่คุณกดบันทึกเอง (รายละเอียดอยู่ในข้อ 3)
  • แผนการใช้งานปัจจุบัน (ฟรีหรือ Pro) วิธีที่ได้รับแผน และวันเวลาที่เปิดใช้
  • โทเค็นอุปกรณ์แบบทึบแสงที่ได้รับตอนลงชื่อเข้าใช้ด้วย LINE พร้อมผลการตรวจสอบ Pro ล่าสุด วันที่ได้รับ Pro รหัสผู้ใช้ LINE และชื่อที่แสดงที่เซิร์ฟเวอร์ส่งมาให้ (ดูข้อ 4)
  • ตัวนับการเปิดพจนานุกรมของวันนี้ ซึ่งเก็บแค่วันที่และจำนวนครั้ง
  • คำขอชั่วคราวว่าหน้าห้องเรียนควรเปิดที่หมวดใด ซึ่งหน้าห้องเรียนจะลบทันทีหลังอ่านค่า

ข้อมูลใน chrome.storage.local ไม่ซิงค์ข้ามอุปกรณ์ ต่างจากค่าการตั้งค่าข้างต้น ข้อมูลนี้อยู่ในเบราว์เซอร์ของคอมพิวเตอร์เครื่องนั้นเท่านั้น หากติดตั้ง BaoSub บนคอมพิวเตอร์อีกเครื่อง สมุดคำศัพท์และแผนการใช้งานจะไม่ตามไปด้วย

3. สมุดคำศัพท์ของคุณ

สมุดคำศัพท์เป็นข้อมูลที่คุณสร้างขึ้นเอง และเป็นข้อมูลที่ละเอียดอ่อนที่สุดที่ BaoSub เก็บไว้ ส่วนขยายจะบันทึกลงสมุดเมื่อคุณกดปุ่มบันทึกในหน้าต่างความหมายเท่านั้น จะไม่มีการบันทึกอัตโนมัติจากการดูซีรีส์หรือการเปิดดูความหมาย

คำที่บันทึกแต่ละคำจะมีข้อมูลต่อไปนี้:

  • คำภาษาจีน พินอิน ความหมาย (ภาษาอังกฤษ และภาษาไทยหากมี) และระดับ HSK
  • ประโยคซับไตเติลภาษาจีนที่มีคำนั้นอยู่
  • บรรทัดภาษาไทยที่แสดงอยู่ในจังหวะเดียวกัน ถ้าตอนนั้นมี
  • ชื่อหน้าเว็บของตอนที่คุณกำลังดูอยู่
  • ตำแหน่งเวลาในวิดีโอ ณ ตอนที่บันทึก
  • วันเวลาที่บันทึก และข้อมูลการจัดตารางทบทวน (กำหนดทบทวนครั้งถัดไป ระยะห่าง จำนวนครั้งที่ตอบถูกติดต่อกัน และจำนวนครั้งที่ลืม)

พูดให้ตรงคือ หากคุณบันทึกคำไปเรื่อย ๆ สมุดเล่มนี้จะกลายเป็นบันทึกว่าคุณดูเรื่องอะไร เมื่อไร และดูถึงนาทีไหน เราจึงอยากบอกให้ชัดว่ามันเก็บข้อมูลอะไรไว้บ้าง ข้อมูลทั้งหมดอยู่ใน chrome.storage.local ในเบราว์เซอร์ของคุณ ไม่ถูกส่งออก ไม่ซิงค์ข้ามอุปกรณ์ และเราเข้าถึงไม่ได้

4. แผนการใช้งาน บัญชี LINE และการตรวจสอบสถานะ Pro

แผนการใช้งานของคุณ (ฟรีหรือ Pro) เก็บอยู่ในเครื่องคุณ หากคุณไม่ลงชื่อเข้าใช้ ส่วนขยายจะไม่ติดต่อเซิร์ฟเวอร์ของ BaoSub เลยสักครั้ง ทุกอย่างในหัวข้อก่อนหน้านี้ทำงานในเครื่องของคุณทั้งหมด

หากคุณลงชื่อเข้าใช้ด้วย LINE ส่วนขยายจะถามเซิร์ฟเวอร์ของเราว่าบัญชีนี้มี Pro หรือไม่ ใน 2 ช่วงเวลาเท่านั้น:

  • เมื่อตรวจสอบเป็นระยะประมาณทุก 5 นาทีขณะที่เบราว์เซอร์เปิดอยู่ เพื่อให้ Pro ที่เพิ่งได้รับแสดงเองโดยไม่ต้องติดตั้งใหม่
  • เมื่อคุณกดปุ่มรีเฟรชในหน้าห้องเรียนของส่วนขยาย

สิ่งที่ส่งไปมีเพียงโทเค็นอุปกรณ์แบบทึบแสงในส่วนหัวคำขอ ไม่มีอีเมล ชื่อ รหัสประจำเครื่อง คุกกี้ ที่อยู่ของหน้าเว็บที่เปิดอยู่ หรือคำศัพท์และซับไตเติลใด ๆ ติดไปด้วย และคำขอเหล่านี้ไม่แนบคุกกี้ของเบราว์เซอร์ไปเลย

หากติดต่อเซิร์ฟเวอร์ไม่ได้ ไม่ว่าจะเพราะอินเทอร์เน็ตขัดข้อง อยู่บนเครื่องบิน หรือเซิร์ฟเวอร์ของเรามีปัญหา Pro จะยังใช้งานต่อได้ 30 วันนับจากวันที่ยืนยันครั้งล่าสุด แล้วจึงกลับเป็นฟรีพร้อมข้อความว่า "ยังยืนยันไม่ได้" ไม่ใช่ "บัญชีไม่ถูกต้อง" ส่วนคำตอบที่ยืนยันแล้วว่าไม่มี Pro หรือบัญชีถูกระงับ จะมีผลทันทีที่ได้รับคำตอบนั้น

ตัวนับจำนวนครั้งที่เปิดพจนานุกรมมีไว้บอกว่าวันนี้ใช้โควตาของแผนฟรีไปเท่าไหร่แล้ว ตัวนับเก็บแค่วันที่กับจำนวนครั้ง ไม่ได้เก็บว่าคุณเปิดดูคำไหนบ้าง

บัญชีผู้ใช้ (ไม่บังคับ) และการเข้าสู่ระบบด้วย LINE — บัญชีใช้สำหรับถือสถานะ BaoSub Pro ของคุณเท่านั้น คุณยังใช้งาน BaoSub ได้ครบถ้วนโดยไม่ต้องมีบัญชี การเข้าสู่ระบบใช้ LINE Login เท่านั้น เราไม่มีรหัสผ่านและไม่เก็บอีเมลของคุณ สโคปที่ร้องขอจาก LINE มีเพียง openid และ profile (ไม่ขออีเมล) และการเข้าสู่ระบบใช้วิธียืนยันแบบ PKCE พร้อมรหัสใช้ครั้งเดียวที่มีอายุ 10 นาที

ระเบียนบัญชีฝั่งเซิร์ฟเวอร์เก็บเฉพาะข้อมูลต่อไปนี้: รหัสบัญชีแบบสุ่ม (ไม่ใช่รหัสผู้ใช้ LINE ของคุณ) ค่าแฮชแบบ HMAC ของรหัสผู้ใช้ LINE ซึ่งย้อนกลับเป็นรหัสจริงไม่ได้ วันเวลาที่สร้างบัญชี สถานะของบัญชี (ใช้งานอยู่หรือถูกระงับ) สถานะ Pro พร้อมวันเวลาที่ได้รับ (ถ้ามี) และชื่อที่แสดงจาก LINE ที่ได้รับตอนเข้าสู่ระบบครั้งล่าสุด เราไม่เก็บโทเคนการเข้าถึงหรือโทเคนต่ออายุของ LINE เลย

ข้อยกเว้นเดียวที่เราเก็บรหัสผู้ใช้ LINE แบบจริง คือระเบียนชั่วคราวที่มีอายุ 2 แบบเท่านั้น ได้แก่ระเบียนเซสชัน (อายุไม่เกิน 30 วัน) และระเบียนโทเค็นอุปกรณ์ของส่วนขยาย (อายุ 1 ปี) ทั้งสองเก็บภายใต้กุญแจแบบแฮช รหัสนี้จะแสดงให้เฉพาะเจ้าของบัญชีเห็นในหน้าบัญชีและหน้าห้องเรียนของส่วนขยาย และแอดมินจะค้นหาบัญชีของคุณได้เฉพาะเมื่อคุณส่งรหัสนี้มาให้ทางแชตเท่านั้น เราไม่บันทึกรหัสนี้ในล็อก ไม่ใส่ในชื่อกุญแจหรือ URL และไม่เก็บในประวัติการให้ Pro หากวันหนึ่งระบบจับคู่ผู้จ่ายเงินอัตโนมัติมาแทนการส่งรหัสทางแชต เราจะเลิกเก็บรหัสแบบจริงนี้

รหัสผู้ใช้ LINE ของคุณจะแสดงในหน้าบัญชีเมื่อเข้าสู่ระบบ พร้อมปุ่มคัดลอกและลิงก์เปิดแชต LINE OA วิธีรับ Pro คือทักแชตจากบัญชี LINE นี้แล้วส่งรหัสนี้พร้อมชำระเงิน แอดมินจะนำรหัสไปค้นหาบัญชีของคุณเพื่อเปิด Pro ให้

ชื่อที่แสดงและรูปโปรไฟล์จาก LINE (ถ้ามี) จะอยู่ในระเบียนเซสชันชั่วคราวเท่านั้น และจะหมดอายุไปพร้อมกับเซสชัน ชื่อที่แสดงจะปรากฏในหน้าบัญชีของคุณและในตารางแอดมิน ส่วนรูปโปรไฟล์ปัจจุบันไม่มีหน้าไหนนำมาแสดง

เมื่อเข้าสู่ระบบสำเร็จ เซิร์ฟเวอร์จะตั้งคุกกี้ชื่อ baosub_session โดยเป็นคุกกี้เซสชันที่ตั้งค่า HttpOnly, Secure และ SameSite=Lax มีอายุไม่เกิน 30 วัน และถูกล้างเมื่อคุณออกจากระบบ คุกกี้นี้ใช้เพื่อรู้ว่าคุณเข้าสู่ระบบอยู่และแสดงสถานะ Pro กับรหัสผู้ใช้ LINE ของคุณเท่านั้น ไม่ได้ใช้ติดตามการใช้งาน

ส่วนขยายที่ลงชื่อเข้าใช้จะได้รับโทเค็นอุปกรณ์แทนคุกกี้ เพราะส่วนขยายเก็บคุกกี้ไม่ได้ โทเค็นนี้เป็นค่าทึบแสงที่ใช้ถามสถานะ Pro ได้อย่างเดียว เซิร์ฟเวอร์เก็บไว้เป็นค่าแฮชเท่านั้น มีอายุ 1 ปี และเพิกถอนได้ทุกเมื่อเมื่อคุณกดออกจากระบบ ระเบียนโทเค็นอุปกรณ์เก็บรหัสผู้ใช้ LINE แบบจริงไว้ด้วยตามข้อยกเว้นข้างต้น เพื่อให้หน้าห้องเรียนแสดงรหัสของคุณได้แม้ตอนออฟไลน์

สถานะ Pro มาจากการให้สิทธิ์โดยแอดมินเท่านั้น ไม่มีระบบชำระเงินอัตโนมัติ บัญชีที่ถูกระงับจะเข้าสู่ระบบไม่ได้ เซสชันเดิมจะอ่านว่าไม่ได้เข้าสู่ระบบ และการตรวจสอบสถานะจะตอบว่าถูกระงับ ดูรายละเอียดได้ที่ข้อกำหนดการให้บริการ

คำขอไปยังเส้นทาง /auth/* บน baosub.com เช่น การเข้าสู่ระบบ การอ่านสถานะเซสชัน และการตรวจสอบสถานะ Pro วิ่งผ่านเครือข่ายของ Cloudflare และคำอธิบายเรื่องหมายเลข IP ด้านล่างใช้กับคำขอเหล่านี้ด้วย ระเบียนบัญชีจะถูกเก็บไว้จนกว่าคุณจะขอลบ ดูรายละเอียดการขอลบในข้อ 5

สิ่งที่เซิร์ฟเวอร์ไม่เก็บในระเบียนถาวร: อีเมล รหัสผ่าน ประเทศ หมายเลข IP รหัสประจำเครื่อง และโทเคนของ LINE ส่วนรหัสผู้ใช้ LINE แบบจริงมีเฉพาะในระเบียนชั่วคราว 2 แบบข้างต้น และจะหายไปเองเมื่อหมดอายุหรือเมื่อคุณขอลบบัญชี

พูดให้ตรงคือ เซิร์ฟเวอร์นี้ทำงานบน Cloudflare และคำขอทุกคำขอบนอินเทอร์เน็ตย่อมมีหมายเลข IP ของผู้ส่งติดไปด้วย Cloudflare จึงเห็นหมายเลข IP ของคุณระหว่างทาง ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งที่หลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้เมื่อส่งคำขอไปยังเซิร์ฟเวอร์ เราไม่บันทึกหมายเลขนี้ไว้ในข้อมูลของเรา ข้อยกเว้นเดียวคือระบบจำกัดอัตราการส่งคำขอ (30 คำขอต่อนาทีต่อผู้ใช้) ซึ่งอาจเก็บค่าแฮชของหมายเลข IP ที่ผสมกับความลับฝั่งเซิร์ฟเวอร์ไว้ประมาณสองนาทีแล้วลบเอง ค่านี้ใช้เพื่อนับจำนวนคำขอเท่านั้น และไม่สามารถย้อนกลับเป็นหมายเลข IP ได้

5. การลบข้อมูลของคุณ

  • ลบทีละคำ — ในหน้าห้องเรียน คำแต่ละคำในสมุดมีปุ่มลบของตัวเอง คำนั้นจะถูกลบทันที และมีปุ่ม "เลิกทำ" ให้เรียกคืนได้ชั่วครู่หนึ่ง
  • ล้างทั้งสมุด — ในหน้าห้องเรียนมีปุ่ม "ล้างสมุดคำศัพท์" ต้องกดยืนยันอีกครั้งจึงจะลบ และมีปุ่ม "เลิกทำ" ให้เรียกคืนได้ชั่วครู่หนึ่งหลังจากนั้น
  • ลบทั้งหมด — การถอนการติดตั้ง BaoSub จากเบราว์เซอร์ Chrome จะลบพื้นที่จัดเก็บข้อมูลของส่วนขยายทั้งสองแห่งโดยอัตโนมัติ ทั้งค่าการตั้งค่าและข้อมูลการเรียน

สิ่งที่การถอนการติดตั้งไม่ลบ คือระเบียนฝั่งเซิร์ฟเวอร์ตามข้อ 4 ได้แก่ระเบียนบัญชี (ถ้าคุณมีบัญชี) เซสชันที่ยังไม่หมดอายุ และโทเค็นอุปกรณ์ ระเบียนเหล่านี้ไม่มีอีเมล รหัสผ่าน หรือโทเคนของ LINE รหัสผู้ใช้ LINE แบบจริงที่อยู่ในเซสชันและโทเค็นอุปกรณ์จะถูกลบไปพร้อมกัน หากต้องการให้ลบบัญชีพร้อมเซสชันและโทเค็นที่เกี่ยวข้อง แจ้งเราได้ผ่านช่องทางติดต่อในข้อ 14 หรือแบบฟอร์มในข้อ 10 แอดมินเป็นผู้ดูแลที่เห็นชื่อที่แสดงในตารางจัดการ และค้นหาบัญชีด้วยรหัสที่คุณส่งมาเท่านั้น ไม่เห็นข้อมูลอื่น

6. หน้าห้องเรียนของส่วนขยาย

BaoSub มีหน้าห้องเรียนของตัวเอง ซึ่งก็คือหน้าตัวเลือก (options page) ของส่วนขยาย เปิดได้จากปุ่มในหน้าตั้งค่า หรือจากหน้าจัดการส่วนขยายของ Chrome หน้านี้ใช้ดูสมุดคำศัพท์ ทบทวนคำ และดูสถานะ Pro พร้อมลงชื่อเข้าใช้ด้วย LINE

หน้านี้เป็นไฟล์ที่ติดตั้งมาพร้อมส่วนขยาย ไม่ใช่เว็บไซต์ที่โหลดจากอินเทอร์เน็ต ข้อมูลทุกอย่างที่แสดงอ่านมาจากเบราว์เซอร์ของคุณ

7. พจนานุกรมที่แนบมากับส่วนขยาย

ความหมายที่ BaoSub แสดงมาจากไฟล์พจนานุกรมประมาณ 97,000 คำ ซึ่งแนบมากับส่วนขยายตั้งแต่ติดตั้ง เมื่อคุณแตะคำ ส่วนขยายจะอ่านไฟล์เหล่านี้จากเครื่องของคุณ ไม่มีการเรียกใช้บริการค้นคำใด ๆ — ไม่มีคำขอส่งออกไปยังเซิร์ฟเวอร์ และไม่มีใครรู้ว่าคุณเปิดดูคำไหน

8. การประมวลผลซับไตเติล

ส่วนขยายเข้าถึงและประมวลผลไฟล์ซับไตเติลที่เว็บไซต์สตรีมมิ่ง (เช่น iq.com) ส่งมายังเบราว์เซอร์ เพื่อแสดงซับ 3 บรรทัด การประมวลผลทั้งหมดเกิดขึ้นบนอุปกรณ์ของคุณ พินอินสร้างในเครื่องผ่านไลบรารี pinyin-pro ที่มาพร้อมกับส่วนขยาย และไม่มีการส่งข้อมูลซับไตเติลไปยังเซิร์ฟเวอร์ของ BaoSub

9. สิทธิ์ในการเข้าถึงที่ใช้งาน

BaoSub ขอสิทธิ์จากเบราว์เซอร์ Chrome เฉพาะที่จำเป็นต่อการทำงานของส่วนขยายเท่านั้น:

  • สิทธิ์โฮสต์สำหรับ iq.com และโดเมนของ iQiyi (iqiyi.com, iqiyipic.com) — เพื่ออ่านไฟล์ซับไตเติลที่เว็บไซต์ส่งมาและแสดงซับบนหน้าเว็บ
  • พื้นที่จัดเก็บข้อมูล (storage) — เพื่อเก็บค่าการตั้งค่า สมุดคำศัพท์ และแผนการใช้งานไว้ในเบราว์เซอร์ของคุณ
  • แท็บที่กำลังใช้งาน (activeTab) — เพื่อให้หน้าตั้งค่าตรวจได้ว่าแท็บปัจจุบันเป็นหน้าวิดีโอที่รองรับหรือไม่ และส่งค่าที่เพิ่งปรับไปยังแท็บนั้นทันที
  • สิทธิ์โฮสต์สำหรับ baosub.com — เพื่อถามสถานะ Pro ตามข้อ 4 และใช้เฉพาะเมื่อคุณลงชื่อเข้าใช้ด้วย LINE แล้วเท่านั้น
  • การปลุกเป็นระยะ (alarms) — เพื่อให้ส่วนขยายตรวจสอบสถานะ Pro เป็นระยะขณะเบราว์เซอร์เปิดอยู่ โดยไม่ต้องเปิดหน้าห้องเรียนค้างไว้

ส่วนขยายไม่ได้ขอสิทธิ์อ่านประวัติการเข้าชม แท็บอื่น หรือคุกกี้ของคุณ

10. การส่งความคิดเห็นถึงเรา

Privacy Policy

BaoSub is designed with user privacy first. This policy explains what the Extension stores, where it stores it, and what it never collects. The short version: your learning data stays inside your own browser, and we cannot reach it. An account is optional, and if you choose to use one, it signs in with LINE only. BaoSub runs exactly one server of its own — the account and Pro-status service on baosub.com — and it is contacted only after you sign in with LINE (see section 4).

1. Data We Do Not Collect

BaoSub does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

  • Email addresses or passwords — there is no email sign-up and no passwords, and an account is optional and uses LINE only (see section 4)
  • Browsing history or URLs of the pages you visit
  • Subtitle content, the words you look up, or the words in your notebook (these stay on your device — see sections 2 and 3)
  • Analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or behavioural tracking of any kind
  • Cookies created by the Extension itself

BaoSub runs one server of its own and one only: the account and Pro-status service described in section 4. It receives anything only if you choose to sign in with LINE. Without signing in, the Extension contacts no BaoSub server at all.

2. What BaoSub Stores in Your Browser

The Extension uses two of Chrome's storage areas, and they behave differently.

Your display settings — chrome.storage.sync

  • The main on/off state and which subtitle lines are shown (Chinese, pinyin, Thai)
  • Font size, vertical position, whether the subtitle band has a background, and its opacity
  • The subtitle colour theme, and your own colours when you set them yourself
  • Simplified/traditional Chinese preference, and the subtitle timing offset you nudge by hand
  • The HSK band used to hide pinyin, whether tapping a word opens the dictionary, and whether the keyboard shortcuts are on
  • Auto-pause at the end of a line with its delay, and the settings panel language

If you are signed in to Chrome with browser sync enabled, Chrome may sync these settings across your devices through your Google account. This is a mechanism of the Chrome browser itself, controlled from Chrome's sync settings — the BaoSub extension never transmits any data on its own.

Your learning data — chrome.storage.local

  • The vocabulary notebook you build by saving words (detailed in section 3)
  • Your current plan (free or Pro), how it was granted, and when
  • The opaque device token received when you sign in with LINE, together with the last Pro check result, the date Pro was granted, the LINE user ID, and the display name the server sent back (see section 4)
  • Today's dictionary lookup counter — a date and a number of lookups, nothing else
  • A one-shot request for which section the Study page should open on, which that page deletes as soon as it reads it

Unlike the settings above, data in chrome.storage.local is not replicated across devices. It stays in the browser on that one computer. Install BaoSub on a second machine and your notebook and plan do not follow you there.

3. Your Vocabulary Notebook

The notebook is content you create, and it is the most sensitive thing BaoSub has ever stored. The Extension writes to it only when you press save in the word popover. Nothing is recorded automatically by watching, or by merely looking a word up.

Each saved word keeps:

  • The Chinese word, its pinyin, its meanings (English, and Thai where that word has one), and its HSK band
  • The Chinese subtitle line the word appeared in
  • The Thai line showing at that same moment, when there was one
  • The page title of the episode you were watching
  • The playback position in the video at the moment you saved it
  • When you saved it, plus review scheduling data (when it is next due, the current interval, successful reviews in a row, and how many times you forgot it)

Put plainly: if you keep saving words, the notebook becomes a record of what you watched, when, and down to the minute. That is why we would rather spell out exactly what it holds. All of it lives in chrome.storage.local in your browser. It is never transmitted, it does not sync across devices, and we cannot reach it.

4. Your Plan, Your LINE Account, and How Pro Is Checked

Your plan (free or Pro) is stored on your device. If you do not sign in, the Extension never contacts a BaoSub server at all — everything described above runs entirely on your own machine.

If you sign in with LINE, the Extension asks our server whether the account holds Pro, at exactly two moments:

  • a periodic check, roughly every 5 minutes while the browser runs, so newly granted Pro appears on its own without a reinstall;
  • when you press the refresh button on the Extension's Study page.

What travels is the opaque device token in the request header and nothing else: no email, no name, no device identifier, no cookies, no address of the page you have open, and none of your saved words or subtitles. These requests carry no browser cookies at all.

If the server cannot be reached — you are offline, on a plane, or our server is having a bad day — your Pro plan keeps working for 30 days past the last successful confirmation, then drops back to free with a "we couldn't confirm it" message, never an "invalid account" one. An answer that confirms there is no Pro, or that the account is suspended, takes effect as soon as it arrives.

The lookup counter exists to tell you how much of the free plan's daily allowance you have used. It holds a date and a count. It does not record which words you looked up.

Your account (optional) and signing in with LINE — an account holds your BaoSub Pro state and nothing else. You can use BaoSub fully without one. Signing in uses LINE Login only: there is no password, we do not collect your email address, and the only LINE scopes we request are openid and profile (no email). Sign-in uses PKCE with a single-use code that lives for 10 minutes.

The server-side account record holds only this: a random opaque account id (not your LINE user id), an HMAC hash of your LINE user id that cannot be turned back into the real id, the account's creation timestamp, its status (active or suspended), the Pro state with the date it was granted (if any), and the LINE display name from your most recent sign-in that carried one. We never store LINE access or refresh tokens.

The single exception where we hold your raw LINE user id is in two expiring records only: the session record (up to 30 days) and the extension's device-token record (one year), both stored under hashed keys. The id is shown only to its owner — on the account page and in the extension's Study page — and an admin can look your account up only after you send them the id over chat. We never write it to logs, key names, or URLs, and never into the Pro-grant history. Should an automatic payer-matching system ever replace sending the id over chat, we will stop holding the raw id.

Your LINE user id appears on the account page once you sign in, with a copy button and a link that opens the LINE OA chat. Getting Pro means messaging us from this LINE account and sending the id with your payment — an admin then looks your account up by it and switches Pro on.

Your LINE display name and picture URL, if any, are held in the temporary session record only. They expire with the session. The display name appears on your account page and in the admin table; the picture is currently not displayed anywhere.

When you sign in, the server sets a session cookie named baosub_session. It is HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax, lasts up to 30 days, and is cleared when you sign out. The cookie is used only to tell whether you are signed in and to show your Pro state and LINE user ID; it is not used for tracking.

A signed-in extension receives a device token instead of a cookie, because an extension cannot hold one. The token is an opaque value that can only ever ask about Pro status. The server stores it as a hash only, it expires after one year, and it is revoked whenever you sign out. The device-token record also holds your raw LINE user id under the exception above, so the Study page can show your id even while offline.

Pro comes only from an admin grant — there is no automated checkout. A suspended account cannot sign in, its existing sessions read as signed out, and status checks answer that it is suspended. See the Terms of Service for details.

Requests to the /auth/* paths on baosub.com — signing in, reading session state, and checking Pro status — travel across Cloudflare's network, and the note about IP addresses below applies to them too. Account records are kept until you ask us to delete them; see section 5.

What the server does not store in any durable record: your email, your password, your country, your IP address, a device identifier, or LINE's tokens. Your raw LINE user id exists only in the two expiring records above, and disappears on its own when they expire or when you ask us to delete your account.

To be straight with you: this server runs on Cloudflare, and every request on the internet necessarily carries the sender's IP address. Cloudflare therefore sees yours in transit; that is unavoidable for any request to any server. We do not record it in our own data. The single exception is the rate limiter (30 requests per minute per caller), which may keep a hash of your IP address — salted with a server-side secret, and so not reversible back to the address — for about two minutes before it expires on its own. It is used to count requests and for nothing else.

5. Deleting Your Data

  • One word at a time — on the Study page, every word in the notebook has its own delete button. The word goes immediately, and an "Undo" button lets you bring it back for a short moment afterwards.
  • The whole notebook — the Study page has a "Clear notebook" button. It asks you to press it a second time to confirm, and an "Undo" button can bring everything back for a short moment afterwards.
  • All of it — uninstall BaoSub from your browser. Chrome clears both of the Extension's storage areas for you: settings and learning data alike.

Uninstalling does not reach the server-side records described in section 4: your account record, if you have one, its live sessions, and its device tokens. These records hold no email address, no password, and no LINE tokens. The raw LINE user id inside live sessions and device tokens is deleted together with them. If you would like your account deleted together with its sessions and tokens, ask us through the contact details in section 14 or the feedback form in section 10. An admin sees your display name in the management table, and looks an account up by an id you sent, only — nothing else.

6. The Extension's Study Page

BaoSub has its own Study page, which is the Extension's options page. You can open it from a button in the settings panel or from Chrome's extensions manager. It is where you browse the notebook, run review sessions, and see your Pro status with LINE sign-in.

The page ships inside the Extension; it is not a website loaded from the internet. Everything it shows is read from the data already in your browser.

7. The Bundled Dictionary

The meanings BaoSub shows you come from dictionary files of roughly 97,000 entries that are bundled with the Extension when you install it. When you tap a word, the Extension reads those files from your own machine. No lookup service is contacted — no request leaves your device, and nobody learns which words you looked up.

The dictionary data comes from three open sources under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence. The full list and the licence links are on the data credits page.

8. Subtitle Processing

The Extension accesses and processes subtitle files that the streaming site (such as iq.com) delivers to your browser, in order to render the 3-line overlay. All of this processing happens entirely on your device. Pinyin is generated locally by the bundled pinyin-pro library, and no subtitle data is ever sent to any BaoSub server.

9. Permissions Used

BaoSub requests only the Chrome permissions it needs to function:

  • Host permissions for iq.com and the iQiyi domains (iqiyi.com, iqiyipic.com) — to read the subtitle files the site delivers and to render the overlay on the page
  • Storage — to keep your settings, your notebook, and your plan inside your browser
  • activeTab — so the settings panel can tell whether the tab you are on is a supported video page, and can push a setting you just changed straight to it
  • Host permission for baosub.com — to check Pro status as described in section 4, used only once you have signed in with LINE
  • Alarms — so the Extension can re-check Pro status periodically while the browser runs, without keeping the Study page open

The Extension asks for no permission to read your browsing history, your other tabs, or your cookies.

10. Feedback You Choose to Send

The settings panel has a "Suggest or report an issue" button that opens a feedback form in a new tab. Sending feedback is entirely voluntary: the Extension transmits nothing by itself, and your message reaches us only when you press submit on the form yourself.

The Extension pre-fills nothing in that form. It attaches no version, no browser details, no address of the page you have open, none of your saved words, and none of your settings. The link carries only the settings panel's language code, so the form renders in that language. Beyond that, the form contains only what you type into it yourself.

When you uninstall the Extension, Chrome opens this same form to ask why. Answering is optional; you can close the tab.

The form runs on Google Forms and responses are stored in the developer's Google account, so your use of the form is also covered by Google's Privacy Policy. If you leave an email address, it is used only to reply about that feedback.

11. Third-Party Services

BaoSub does not integrate any external analytics, advertising, tracking, or translation services. The subtitles it renders come directly from the streaming site you are visiting and are governed by that site's own privacy policy. The feedback form described in section 10 is provided by Google and is contacted only when you open it yourself. Optional account sign-in uses LINE Login, happens only when you choose it, and is also covered by LINE's privacy policy.

The account and Pro-status server described in section 4 runs on Cloudflare Workers, so requests to it travel across Cloudflare's network and are also covered by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. Those requests happen only once you have signed in with LINE.

12. Children's Privacy

BaoSub is a general-audience tool and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

13. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the new version will be published at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. We revise it whenever the Extension's data handling changes.
